Your routine postnatal appointment with Dr McLaren will be at around six weeks after birth. At this visit, Dr McLaren will usually check the progress of your recovery, perform a Pap Smear and discuss any concerns you may have.
You may also access support from our team of Midwives and Lactation Consultants, Physiotherapists and Dietician to assist you to recover, and to look after your baby.
Did you know that women who have had high blood pressure and Gestational Diabetes in pregnancy are more likely to have hypertension and Type 2 Diabetes later in life? Dr McLaren and her team are available to support you to be the healthiest version of you at all stages of your life. If you have had gestational diabetes, then ongoing care can be important to have a healthier life and minimise your chance of developing Type 2 Diabetes. We offer regular follow up with our women’s health professionals to optimise your health, balance a healthy diet and exercise as you grow with your young family.
