Katrina has always had a passion for health and fitness, and first earned her Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) (Nutrition and Dietetics) at Queensland University of Technology in 2007. After having three children of her own, she completed a post graduate degree in research in the field of prenatal nutrition.
Over the past ten years, Katrina has worked as an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) in private practice and high-level research, and has completed specialist training in Nutrition through Pregnancy, Nutrition for Fertility, Advanced Paediatric Nutrition, HAES (Health at Every Size), the non-diet approach, the SOS approach to feeding fussy eaters, and motivational interviewing counselling.
Katrina is an active member, ambassador and coach for the Nutrition Plus fertility and pregnancy specialist team and member of the Queensland Eating Disorders support network for Dietitians. She has a wealth of experience in treating a range of clinical conditions for both adults and children and has a particular interest in women’s health and early life nutrition.
She is also the founder of “Bloom – your pregnancy food pal” app, (the first specialised evidence-based fertility and pregnancy nutrition app in the world) launching in 2022.
Having three small children of her own, and juggling work, study and family commitments, Katrina understands that having a healthy diet is not always easy to achieve especially when there are health conditions at play. Katrina is privileged and honoured to share her knowledge and experience with women, families, and kids at all stages of life. She aims to provide patients with education, tools and practical skills to meet their nutritional requirements while fitting into their lifestyle and family needs.
Importantly, Katrina authentically cares for the health and well-being of her patients and strives to build a positive relationship based on trust, respect, empathy, compassion, and encouragement with the people in her care.
